THE GUSTAFER YELLOWGOLD SHOW

NEW YORK, NY – The critically acclaimed multimedia "musical moving book," The Gustafer Yellowgold Show, will bring a burst of yellow sunshine to a wintry day with its first big performance on the Upper East Side - and its only winter show in Manhattan - at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Temple Israel of the City of New York, 112 E. 75th St., New York, NY.

Brainchild of NYC-based illustrator/songwriter/performer Morgan Taylor, Gustafer Yellowgold concerts are a unique blend of live music and captioned moving image, projected in vivid color onto a large screen. The minimally animated illustrations are accompanied by Taylor's catchy and original story-songs, backed by full band, for a truly different multimedia experience that entrances children and adults alike. As always, Morgan Taylor will bring his distinctive brand of humor to the show, as he interacts with his often verbally inquisitive audience.

Gustafer Yellowgold is a friendly creature who came to Earth from the Sun and has an interesting magnetism for making friends with some of Earth's odder creatures. His best friend is Forrest Applecrumbie. the smartly dressed Pterodactyl, with whom he built a small cottage-style home on the edge of an uncharted wooded area in Minnesota. Gustafer has a pet eel named Slim (short for Slimothy) and a dragon named Asparagus who lives in his fireplace. For recreation, he enjoys punching cheese and jumping on cake.

Possessing a strong crossover appeal, The Gustafer Yellowgold Show has performed as the support act for Wilco and The Polyphonic Spree, as well as headlining kids' venues all across the U.S., in London, and even in Seoul, Korea! Morgan Taylor's other activities include playing bass for The Autumn Defense (featuring John and Pat from Wilco), in addition to a recording project with Tony Award winning songwriter Duncan Sheik.

The DVD/CD set, Gustafer Yellowgold’s 'Have You Never Been Yellow?,' released in October 2007, was voted Best Album of the Year in the 2007 Fids and Kamily Awards, modeled after the Village Voice's Pazz & Jop Poll. Gustafer Yellowgold's Wide Wild World, released in March 2007, is a 2007 NAPPA Gold winner and an official selection of the KIDS FIRST! Film and Video Festival.
