Poets House will present a virtual reading by Poet Mark Doty of his new book What Is the Grass: Walt Whitman In My Life, from his home in the West Village, NY. The reading will be live-streamed on the Poets House Twitter page on Wednesday, June 3rd at 12:00 PM, and will also be available on the Poets House Facebook page, IGTV, and YouTube channel.

Mark Doty is an American poet and memoirist best known for his work My Alexandria. He was the winner of the National Book Award for Poetry in 2008.

Founded by two-time U.S. Poet Laureate Stanley Kunitz and legendary arts administrator Elizabeth Kray, Poets House serves as a home for all who read and write poetry. In 2009, Poets House moved into its permanent home at 10 River Terrace in Battery Park City on the banks of the Hudson River where, last year, 80,000 people walked through its doors, and more than five million were introduced to Poets House through its new website and national partnerships. 2017 marks the 30th Anniversary Celebration of this landmark institution.
