Experimental Sound Art
Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
This workshop, led by experimental musician Bob Bellerue, extends from various approaches to making a "musical signal chain" from idea to the audience. Over the course of four weeks, participants will learn about the histories, methods, aesthetics, and conceptual frameworks for noise, drone, ambient, sound art, improvisation, and experimental electronic music. To apply these frameworks, we will build contact microphones, small electronic devices, and custom instruments using resonant objects. Additionally, we will delve into field recordings and tape delay as we make and share short recordings.
