Madame Tussauds Kicks Off the Baseball Season with the 'Derek Jeter' Experience
Madame Tussauds' updated Derek Jeter interactive baseball experience brings baseball legends "Derek Jeter," "Jackie Robinson," "Mickey Mantle," "Joe DiMaggio," and "Babe Ruth" together onto the same field of dreams. Visitors will be able to head to the pitcher's mound to strike out "Derek Jeter," who's waiting ready at bat. Families can practice their swing with regulation bats and then sprint home to score a run. This new "Yankee stadium" at Times Square has been outfitted with a baseball diamond, dome roof, fresh artificial turf, and #1 Yankee fan "Mayor Rudolph Giuliani." Always the watchful owner, "George Steinbrenner," or his wax figure anyway, will be standing on the sidelines.
"We are delighted to update the Derek Jeter baseball experience to give visitors a unique opportunity to play ball with their baseball heroes," said Janine DiGioacchino, general manager, Madame Tussauds New York. "Baseball is America's pastime, and we encourage everyone to come experience the thrill of the game in our new stadium of dreams."
Madame Tussauds New York is an interactive "must do" attraction that provides guests with unique opportunities to create memories with some of the world's biggest icons. At the new "Hillary Clinton Interactive Exhibit" visitors can enter voting booths to answer the following questions: 1.) Would you ever vote for a female President? 2.) Will Hillary Clinton be the first female President? Votes are immediately tallied and shown on-site. Guests who stop by "Chamber Live! Featuring House of Wax" are transported to Trudy's House of Wax in the eerie town of Ambrose, which is filled with remarkably life-like wax sculptures. Once there, guests must find a way out of Ambrose - or become permanent additions to the House of Wax.
Madame Tussauds is located in Times Square at 234 W. 42nd St. btw. Seventh & Eighth Aves. Madame Tussauds New York is open 365 days a year at 10 a.m. For more information, visit www.nycwax.com or call 800-246-8872.
